The Ageing with Confidence programme is the first of its kind to be run in Ireland. It has been independently evaluated and found to be of benefit. The aim of the programme is to help older people to develop a positive view of their own and other people’s ageing. Those attending the course are given the opportunity to examine their own experience of ageing and how they can remain physically and mentally healthy.
Participants are encouraged to live every day to the full and look at their achievements in life. They are also encouraged to acknowledge and affirm positive qualities about themselves that they may previously have been unaware of. The programme is facilitated by two experienced counsellors from Northside Counselling Service Ltd. The programme is offered free of charge.
We would like to encourage participation from people aged 55+.
The programme is run over: 8 weeks – one afternoon weekly: 2pm – 4.30 pm
We will be facilitating two courses before end 2022, the first starting in early September in Artane and the second starting in early October in Kilbarrack.
If you are interested in joining either programme, please phone Gay Pitcher or Reception (leave a message) on 01-848 4789 or gaypitcher@northsidecounselling.ie
Participant comments “Beginning to think positive and look at things differently”
“That you can learn to be confident at any age”
“to ask for help if needed”
“To trust my own judgment more”
“Facilitators were excellent, patient, attentive and very understanding”
